Xiaomi's Redmi Go to launch in India on March 19

The Chinese smartphone maker's Android Go-powered smartphone is all set to be launched on March 19, 2019. Xiaomi is sending out media invites for the 'Go' launch event on March 19 in New Delhi, set to begin at 12pm IST. The Redmi Go is an entry-level smartphone that is powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Redmi Go smartphone was announced earlier this year in Philippines at PHP 3,990 (roughly Rs. 5,400). It is expected that the smartphone will be priced at around Rs 5,000 in India.

If we talk about the technical specifications, the Redmi Go smartphone features a 5-inch HD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor backed by Adreno 308 GPU and paired with 1GB RAM. There is 8GB of internal storage, which can further be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card slot.

Redmi Go runs on Google's Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition). It is backed up by 3,000mAh battery which the company claims to offer 11 days of standby time.  In the camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support, and a 5-megapixel front camera.

In Connectivity the phone will include dual-SIM support, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a micro-USB port. Sensors on board include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer.
